About the Artist

Patty at Work I discovered the world of mosaics about ten years ago while living in Southern California. I made my first mosaic table using bags of beautiful beach glass, which I had collected on many walks along the beaches. I was immediately hooked on the creativity of mosaics, and what started as a pastime quickly became my passion, and everyday I am still in awe of the beauty of the craft.

I was born in New York, but was raised in Southern California. In 2005, being an empty nester, and having a desire to stay near my newborn grand daughter, I relocated to North Texas where. It has been a blessing to be able to follow my passion of Mosaic Art with the support of my family and friends. My grand daughter is 3 now, and is often in the studio by my side arranging the tiles just perfect!

My inspiration for my art comes through everyday experiences of life. Seeing things of beauty such as places I've visited, or nature's offerings all around us and re-creating the vision into a Mosaic. My projects can be presented in various ways: As installed pieces, framed in custon wood frames, embedded on underlayment or final installation by the client.

I am a current member of SAMA (Society of American Mosaic Arts). In addition to many society workshops, I studied with Luciana Notturni and Brunetta Zavatti in Ravenna,Italy. Ms. Notturni teaches the Byzantine method of mosaics and is a renowned mosaicist with extensive knowledge of restoration of ancient mosaic works of art. Classes with author and Mosaicist Sonia King, of Dallas Texas. My work has been with Blue-Ribbon at the Texas State Fair, 2007 and 2008.

I look forward to your inquiries or questions relative to the creation of you own work of art, possibly a piece that will become a family heirloom that will be passed on from generation to generation.email me or call: (972)900-4676. N.G.U
